Challenge #100DaysOfData

This challenge is a bit of a unique challenge. It is not mentioned in the list of #100DaysOfX challenges because it is close related to the #100DaysOfCode challenge and it is a name of a study. The #100DaysOfX challenges exists for circa 3 years now. And because I work with and love to expand my knowledge in this field, it is already a daily task to learn or read something about the topics in this field. The challenge #100DaysOfData is more than reading or learning something every day. It is about explaining bits of what you’ve learnt or read every day in your own words.

The Start

After ‘My November Birthday Weekend!‘ and last weekend’s digital family event, I start today the 7th of December 2020 the #100DaysOfData challenge!

Next to this challenge I am also participating in the #100DaysOfReading challenge on my other blog https://www.sophiestech.blog (Redesign and Introduction Sophie’s Tech).

The hashtag #100DaysOfData is a broad challenge. It can be different every day.
Every now and then I write my findings in a blog post. The goal is to provide you readers with insights, facts and so on about the topics in those bite sized blog posts so you look too curious to data.
The main goal for a challenger is to at least do something with data for an hour a day and learn from it. Try to write about – the theory behind or usage of – data. Work with opendata and create graphs and explanations, challenge data in the news and so on. A topic could be the COVID-19 statistics which differ so much in theory, method and outcome per country.

How does it work?

If you would like, you can follow my Twitter @sophiestech to see my updates about the #100DaysOfSoftwareEngineering challenge and about my other challenge: #100DaysOfCode. I chose to share my progress there and the results of every topic will be found here on the blog in those bite sized blog posts. This challenge is part of the #100DaysOfX Challenges and this challenge can be an example to change your life by improving your habit in (self)learning something if you have an interest in data and to be curious for the reasoning behind information (read: data based) provided in the news.

You can join too!

Just retweet the tweet below and let me know when you joined this unique challenge too!

I’m publicly committing to the 100DaysOfData Challenge starting today! Learn More and Join me! https://100DaysOfX.com #100DaysOfData

Besides Twitter and this blog, there is also my other blog ‘Sophie’s Blog‘ where I will write about the #100DaysOfReading challenge. And share the reviews of the books and sources I have read for the #100DaysOfCode and the #100DaysOfData challenge.

Three Challenges

To summarise it all: Yes I am attending three challenges at the same time, for the same duration, with the same sharing goal: Gaining knowledge to practice, to build a portfolio to show and to write to explain what’s been built and learnt.

Ask the Reader:

Do you have an interest in data?
This is a broad question: also 100DaysOfX or a challenge in life?
I would love to hear about your story in the comments!

Have a nice day!
